Rajwada

The Rajwada Palace, the Holkar family's crowning achievement, stands near Khajuri Bazar as one of Indore's most revered landmarks. The Rajwada, also named as one of the best places to visit in Indore for couples, is the first item that everybody notices, as it is next to the main thoroughfare. A wall, a garden, and a walkway separate Rajwada's main entrance from the busy street. The sheer magnitude of this Holkar castle is usually shocking to visitors. The Rajwada is a seven-story architectural marvel.

Temple of the Golden Lotus

The stunning Kanch Mandir, a temple made entirely of glass and mirrors, is one of Indore's most well-known attractions. Seth Hukumchand, a wealthy merchant, commissioned the construction of this Jain temple around the start of the twentieth century. Everything in this space, from the walls and ceiling to the doors, is made of glass. There are lighting and chandeliers made of cut glass hanging from the ceiling, and the floor is tiled with intricate designs. Scenes from the Jain and Hindu epic Mahabharata are depicted on these walls. The three Tirthankara sculptures are infinitely replicated in the special glass space above the Mandir.

Lalbagh

The Holkar dynasty was responsible for several very great buildings, such as the Lalbagh Palace. It was during the eras of Shivaji Rao, Tukoji Rao II. and Tukoji Rao III that this 71.63-acre palace was built. Lal Bagh Palace's huge entry gate was inspired by Buckingham Palace's but was built to accommodate twice as many visitors.

Annapurna Temple

Annapurna Mandir was designed after the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. Typical of Dravidian temples in southern India, the temple's complex features an amazing gateway adorned with four life-size elephants supporting an exquisite Gopuram (a generally ornamental tower at the temple entrance). All over the Gopuram are intricate plaster carvings of Hindu deities and goddesses. The complex's primary attraction is the Annapurna Devi Temple. A pink dome tops it, and its walls are covered with bright reliefs depicting scenes from Hindu mythology.

The tradition states that Aurangzeb's idol was hidden in a well. Ahilyabai Holkar, a member of the Holkar family in the Maratha Empire, rescued the idol from the well in 1735 and commissioned the construction of a shrine to honor it.
